FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Commissioner James Metts announced today the start of a CoVid-19 relief program in Montgomery County to assist county residents negatively impacted during the pandemic. The CARES ACT funding will provide residents with assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, and/or prescriptions, and will be administered in East Montgomery County through Mission Northeast and Community Assistance Center, two local non-profit organizations. Residents must apply for assistance, and provide documentation to support their eligibility.

“I know some folks are having a rough time, and we certainly want to get this assistance into the hands of the people who need it. It’s important to know these funds are not based on income, but on need,” Commissioner Metts remarked.
