Commissioner Matt Gray is an 8th generation Texan and a proud lifelong resident of East Montgomery County. Commissioner is a graduate of New Caney High School, he earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University, his master’s degree in construction science from Texas State, and his Project Management Professional accreditations through U of H & the Project Management Institute.
Before taking office as County Commissioner, he enjoyed a very successful career in Oil & Gas, where he planned & executed multinational capital projects and managed day-to-day operations.
Commissioner Gray and his wife, Amanda, have four children. When Commissioner Gray is not busy serving the residents of Precinct 4, he can be found coaching little league baseball, football and basketball year-round, on a hike in the woods, or on a jog.
The Commissioner serves the constituents of Precinct 4 by utilizing his education & private sector experience to manage the fast-paced growth, prudently maintaining the budget, properly maintaining roads, improving drainage, fighting to lower taxes, and bringing an end to wasteful spending.
